STATEMENT
Drawing and painting out in the landscape are an essential part of my work,
using a sketchbook to record and gather information. Back in the studio this
information is developed with varied paint surfaces and materials, (usually
oil or acrylic). My work is primarily concerned with the experience and
sensation of a particular location in the landscape…..places where I have
walked or visited… which have inspired me.
“The titles are the names of places, meaning that there was an involvement there, at a
special time: an experience affected by the weather, the season and the country, but
above all concerned with the exact location and its spirit for me…………”
